Production

Innovation in language, musical forms and sound technologies: these are production's main goals. Drawing inspiration from the principles of quality and experimentation that characterized the work brought forward for and with Luciano Berio, Tempo Reale operates on a local, national and international level collaborating with musicians, researchers and cultural operators in order to deal with ever-evolving subject matters – such as improvisation and interactive techniques – and to find solutions that reunite tradition with a desire for renewal. New productions and related recordings are constantly presented both in Florence and in various other contexts: they often involve the definition and creation of flexible acoustic spaces, but their purpose is also that of musically occupying unconventional venues.

DMS - Digital Surveillance Model

DMS - Digital Surveillance Model

The installation DSM – Digital Surveillance Model is a concept inspired by the Panopticon, designed by Jeremy Bentham in 1791, and by the metaphor of invisible power explored in the years following its creation. In DSM, the idea of a digital eye designed for surveillance transforms into an ear assigned to the perception of surveillance, where the end-user becomes an external element and at the same time an individual involved within.

TEMPO REALE per SECRET FLORENCE 2018

For the third edition of Secret Florence, a strategic project in the Estate Fiorentina event calendar achieved with support from the Florence Municipality and Pitti Immagine, Tempo Reale is offering two distinct operations promoting on the one hand the appreciation of experimental musicians within an exclusive context, and on the other a new work of sound art. PAESAGGIO NOTTE, a concert cycle inspired by Florence Planetarium’s “starry sky”, will host the electronics of Marcus Schmickler, the electric guitar of Elliott Sharp, and the percussion of Francesco Cigana. The closing event, on Saturday June 16th, will be an audio-visual installation based on a 1966 score (La Luce) by renowned Florentine artist Giuseppe Chiari.
