TEMPO REALE 25: TWENTYFIVE YEARS OF MUSICAL RESEARCH

The new year is a very important anniversary for Tempo Reale: its twentyfifth birthday. Founded by Luciano Berio in 1987, it has been and it is still now a unique institution in Italy for experimental music and sound research. We want to thank all the people who have worked, collaborated and joined the musical life and events of the centre, giving a significative contribution to make it a special place.

AUTOMATED ART, BUT "CON GIUDIZIO"?

A round table and an acousmatic concert will take place at Villa Strozzi (Florence) during the tenth anniversary of the death of Pietro Grossi, Italian pioneer of computer music. It is an opportunity to discuss about the problems of aesthetic judgment of digital art and also to listen to Grossi's music together with recent automated compositions realized by Italian composers of different generations.

THE SOUND OF FLORENCE

What does Florence offer from a sound perspective? How do we listen and describe the soundscape where we live ? The project offer an approach to the sonic aspects of Florence, through a series of different and articulated events: they contribute both to the work of sensitization at the urban acoustic medium and to the musical contextualization of some importan places and buildings of the town.
