Thanks to SIAE’s recognition of the quality of the centre’s production work and research, the Tempo Reale. Il suono della ricerca project is included among the SIAE – Classici Oggi initiatives supporting classical music and contemporary creativity. This project includes four different initiatives from September 2016 to June 2017, engaged in the activities’ institutional fabric, with special attention towards planning intended for young Italian musicians and the juvenile creative emergency.



1. KATE musical residencies (title variation from March 2017)

This is a useful device for the circulation of ideas and persons, very common in dance and theatre but very rarely explored in the field of music. Since 2015, thanks to the participation of SIAE, Tempo Reale has established a rich program of musical residencies directed to young electronic musicians, selected with a public call for works.

2. “Beyond Techno” Call for works, workshop, and concert

In the occasion of Tempo Reale Festival 2016, taking place in Florence from September 29th to October 8th, 2016, the centre has invited young Italian visual artists and electronic musicians interested in presenting their works live to send in projects which follow the theme of a possible experimental and innovative deviation for so-called “techno” music. The works selected have been presented to the public on October 1st at Limonaia di Villa Strozzi.

3. Tempo Reale/EMA Vinci Records – TREMA Project

This project, already launched by EMA Vinci and Tempo Reale, establishes a long-term collaboration and has the objective of the creation of a line of record releases formed by the union of these two experiences, to document the works created and to place special attention on the productions of a new Italian music. This collaboration has been named the TREMA Project and is specifically dedicated to the relationships between acoustic sound and electronic sound.

4. MI-FI. Structured collaboration project of Agon and Tempo Reale

This concert marks a long-standing collaboration in the field of sound experimentation: On a regular and alternating basis, certain Florentine initiatives will be presented in the agenda of Milan’s city centre, and vice versa, every other year. The first event, planned for March 31st, 2017, is the Milan premiere of a Tempo Reale project directed by Francesco Canavese and Francesco Giomi. The concert at Agon – opened with an explanatory talk – will present new works and recently reworked versions of pre-existing ones.
